Sure, it’s got improvements and those improvements are needed - but only to stay ahead of the competitors; not that I’m chiding the concept, but c’mon, don’t make it more than what it is: an ultra light duty laptop sans attached kb.
Speaking of…
So far, my favorite part about reading the live blogging going on, is how reportedly the conference opened up with a gamut of “quantity is quality” statements.
Millions of units, thousands of apps, and a doctor (note the singular form) talking about how he uses the IPad to work with an autistic kid - all to verify the practicality of a device that still does less, with less, from less, for more than an equally priced laptop. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t mind owning one for the convenience of certain apps but the the price and functional limit on top of the fragility… I’d go with a 12-13” laptop to do the same and more. Also, the words of today seem to be:
Dramatically Game-changer Magical
UPDATE: Goddamn you SPJ and your marketing. I think I’ll just go ahead and finally get one. I actually DO have a practical use for it… And that cover, it presses me with the folding and sticking and stuff n stuff…
(I will burn in hell for buying one, I know it because I already feel dirty)
